Foreign ministers of the United States, Japan, Australia and India will meet in New Delhi on 26 May for talks under the QUAD framework, according to Japan’s foreign ministry.
Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi will visit India for three days from Monday to attend the meeting.
The United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to India from Saturday after attending the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Sweden, the US State Department said.
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong is also expected to participate, alongside India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
QUAD Agenda
According to an Indian government statement, the ministers will build on discussions held in Washington on 1 July 2025 and review progress on ongoing QUAD initiatives.
They are expected to exchange views on strengthening cooperation in priority areas under the vision of a “free and open Indo-Pacific”, as well as discuss regional and global developments.
During the visit, the visiting ministers are also expected to hold bilateral meetings with Jaishankar and call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
