Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng has called for China and Germany to strengthen traditional areas of cooperation while expanding collaboration in emerging sectors.

He made the remarks during a meeting in Beijing with German Economy and Energy Minister Katherina Reiche and representatives from the German business community.

Focus On Trade And Investment

The two sides exchanged views on deepening China-Germany economic and trade relations amid broader global economic uncertainty.

He said China and Germany remain important economic partners with strong complementarity, a solid foundation for cooperation and significant untapped potential.

The Chinese vice-premier also expressed hope that both countries would promote stable and healthy long-term trade relations through high-level engagement.

Germany Signals Confidence In China

Reiche described Germany as a reliable economic and trade partner for China and said German businesses remain confident about China’s economic prospects and innovation capabilities.

She added that German companies are willing to continue deepening cooperation with China despite growing geopolitical and economic tensions globally.
