Reliance Mulling Buying German-Owned Telecom Firm

Reliance Industries is evaluating making a bid for T-Mobile Netherlands, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom. Reports suggest the German parent is asking for $5.9 billion. A deal would imply Mukesh Ambani is on the road to overhauling an “old economy” Reliance into a tech titan. Reliance New Energy Solar is also investing $50 million in Ambri Inc, a renewable energy storage firm in the United States.
