China Reaches Out, Again

China’s President Xi Jinping has sent a condolence message to Prime Minister Modi, saying he was concerned about the second wave of Coronavirus infections. Xinhua quoted him as saying: “I would like to express my sincere condolences to the Indian government and people.”

China’s diplomats have said their private sector could provide any assistance that India requires, although the latter has not made any request for help. But India has asked for flights by Sichuan Airlines to be resumed so it could bring in relief materials procured on a commercial basis.
