Late last month, President Joe Biden and his Indian counterpart Prime Minister Narendra Modi combined to deepen the relationship between the two countries.

This included a first: transfer of closely guarded technology to design and manufacture a critical class of semiconductors used in defence and telecom. For the first time, the productionisation of this technology in India will include home-grown startups in defence.

Consequently, this deal is a benchmark moment in the collaboration between the two countries, fostering a new
business environment that will grow critical and strategic technologies in India.
