Iran has said it is ready to share its defensive weapons capabilities with “independent countries”, particularly members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
Deputy Defence Minister Reza Talaei-Nik made the remarks during a meeting of SCO defence ministers in Bishkek, according to Iranian state media.
Reference to Recent Conflict
Talaei-Nik pointed to Iran’s recent conflict with the United States and Israel, which lasted from late February to early April.
During the fighting, Iran launched waves of drones and missiles targeting U.S. bases across the region and Israeli sites, while also claiming to have shot down U.S. aerial assets, mainly drones, over its airspace.
“We are ready to share the experiences of America’s defeat with other members of the organisation,” he said.
Growing Military Engagement
The Iranian official also held discussions with defence representatives from Russia and Belarus on the sidelines of the meeting.
Both Moscow and Minsk reiterated their willingness to continue defence cooperation with Tehran, signalling closer military coordination among SCO-linked states.
Ceasefire Holds, Talks Stall
The conflict is currently paused following a ceasefire announced earlier this month. However, diplomatic efforts to reach a lasting resolution to the two-month war remain stalled.
