Iran has already restarted parts of its drone production during the six-week ceasefire that began in early April, according to a CNN report citing multiple sources familiar with US intelligence assessments.
The report said American intelligence agencies now believe Iran’s military rebuilding efforts are moving far faster than initially expected, despite heavy damage caused during the recent conflict.
Reuters said it could not independently verify the CNN report.
US Intelligence Sees Faster Military Recovery
According to CNN, intelligence assessments suggest Tehran has resumed some drone manufacturing operations while also accelerating broader military recovery efforts.
The findings reportedly surprised some US officials who had initially expected Iran’s military-industrial infrastructure to take much longer to recover after the US-Israeli campaign earlier this year.
Iran has heavily relied on drones in recent years, both for domestic defence and through regional allied groups across the Middle East.
Trump Warns Of Fresh Strikes
The report comes as Donald Trump warned that the United States was prepared to launch fresh attacks on Tehran if negotiations failed to produce results soon.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Trump said Washington could move quickly if Iran did not provide “the right answers” during ongoing diplomatic contacts.
“Believe me, if we don’t get the right answers, it goes very quickly. We’re all ready to go,” Trump said.
Fragile Ceasefire Under Pressure
The ceasefire, which began in early April after weeks of intense fighting, has remained fragile amid stalled negotiations and continuing regional tensions.
Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that any renewed military action could trigger a broader regional confrontation.
At the same time, diplomatic channels remain open through intermediaries, including Pakistan and regional Gulf states, as both sides continue indirect talks over sanctions, regional security and Iran’s nuclear programme.
