Foxconn said on Thursday it will collaborate with US chipmaker Intel to jointly develop and deploy next-generation AI infrastructure and intelligent computing platforms.
The move comes as global demand for artificial intelligence computing systems continues to surge.
Focus on AI Data Centres and Computing Systems
Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, said the partnership will combine Intel’s chip technology with its own manufacturing and systems integration capabilities.
The two companies plan to focus on equipment used in AI data centres, including server racks powered by Intel Xeon processors and AI accelerator chips.
They will also collaborate on high-speed interconnect technologies, cooling systems and energy efficiency solutions for large-scale AI infrastructure.
Expanding Beyond Data Centres
The collaboration is not limited to traditional data centre infrastructure.
Foxconn and Intel also plan to develop AI systems for industrial and real-world applications, including smart factories, robotics and smart city infrastructure.
Foxconn Chairman and CEO Young Liu said the partnership would integrate strengths across computing platforms, system design and global supply chains.
Strategic Push Into AI Ecosystem
Both companies also indicated they may explore work on custom chips and deeper system integration solutions, although no financial details, customers or timelines were disclosed.
The announcement reflects intensifying competition in the global AI hardware ecosystem, where companies are racing to build the infrastructure powering next-generation AI models.
