PUNE: Like Maldives, the coronavirus is a source of great concern for Sri Lanka but as Shehan Semasinghe, Minister Of State For Banking, Development and Loan Schemes tells Ashwin Ahmad, the country has face worse challenges such as the civil war and its economy has rebounded to normal. Semasinghe also believes that after the elections in April, the country will have a more stable government which will ensure a more stable and organised approach to crises, be it tackling the coronavirus or handling the menace of radical Islamic terrorism. On the question of geo-political tussle between India and China, he asserted that neither India nor China had any need to worry about any developments in Sri Lanka as the island nation would continue to keep out of geo-political issues and remain independent.
