Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin may get WHO approval within 24 hours, according to an official in the agency. A WHO technical committee will review the vaccine and if satisfied, a formal recommendation on its use will be issued. The UN insisted that there was no delay in approving the vaccine, saying it cannot cut corners and must evaluate it thoroughly.
