WHO Against Travel Curbs Over New Covid Strain

The World Health Organisation has cautioned against imposing travel curbs, saying that it will be weeks before the implications of the new Covid strain in South Africa are understood. Its technical advisory group is meeting to discuss the new variant. European governments are scrambling to ban travel from South Africa while Singapore and Malaysia are restricting travel from seven African countries.
