China has called for urgent diplomatic efforts to address rising tensions involving Iran, urging all sides to prioritise dialogue over conflict.

In a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed the need to seize opportunities for peace talks as soon as possible, according to an official statement.

Call For Dialogue Over Conflict

Wang said that negotiations remain the best way to resolve disputes, emphasising that force should not be used to address international crises.

He added that all major global flashpoints should be handled through dialogue and consultation, reinforcing Beijing’s consistent stance on diplomatic solutions.

Iran Seeks Global Support

In response, Araqchi called on members of the United Nations Security Council, particularly China and Russia, to take a firm position against what he described as aggression by the United States and Israel.

According to Iranian state media, he urged global powers to prevent what he termed the misuse of international institutions.

Rising Tensions In Focus

The exchange comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with geopolitical rivalries and ongoing conflicts increasing pressure on diplomatic channels.

China has positioned itself as an advocate for dialogue, seeking to play a role in easing tensions while maintaining ties with key regional actors.
