Strategic Partnership Pact

On 19 June 2024, Russia and North Korea signed a “comprehensive strategic partnership” pact during Putin’s visit to Pyongyang. This agreement includes a mutual defence clause, ensuring support if either nation faces aggression. Putin highlighted the importance of this clause following the signing.

Implementation of Agreements

“Work is underway, including in implementing the agreements reached during President Putin’s recent official visit to Pyongyang,” Peskov informed reporters during a conference call regarding the Russian military delegation’s visit. He noted, “It was a rich, informative and productive visit, and now the two sides are working to implement the agreements that were reached. Our delegation’s trip occurred as part of those agreements.”
