Embassies Host Photo Exhibition On Ukraine War

The US Embassy in Delhi, along with those of Ukraine and Poland, are marking two years of the war in Ukraine with a photo exhibition entitled “I Still Dream”.

The exhibition is being held at the American Cultural Centre in New Delhi to “showcase the devastating impact that Russia’s unprovoked invasion has had on the children of Ukraine.”

US ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, emphasised the unwavering commitment of the US to defend the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

“As we witness the barbarity inflicted upon Ukraine’s children and the nation itself, we are reminded of the profound words of Eglantyne Jebb (late founder of Save the Children NGO), who declared that ‘every war is a war against children.’ This illegal invasion has not only shattered countless lives but also violated the very principles that uphold global peace and democracy. The United States remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding Ukraine’s sovereignty and condemning the atrocities committed by Putin’s regime.”

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Iryna Borovets, expressed her gratitude for the unwavering dedication and support from close partners, the United States and Poland. Borovets further highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts by inaugurating the photo exhibition “I Still Dream” against the backdrop of uplifting news: the recent return of eleven Ukrainian children to their homeland. These children had been forcibly removed to Russia. She emphasized, “That’s why our joint efforts within the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children are so important.”
