Wang Yi called for both nations to seek common ground and engage in activities that enhance mutual trust. “We should do more things that are conducive to enhancing mutual trust,” he said, according to a statement from the Chinese foreign ministry.
Strategic Communication for Regional Stability
Both ministers agreed to maintain close and strategic communication to ensure peace and stability on the Korean peninsula. This was confirmed by Seoul’s foreign ministry, highlighting the shared commitment to regional security.
Concerns Over China-Russia Ties
Cho Tae-yul expressed grave concern over the growing ties between Russia and China, urging Beijing to play a constructive role in promoting peace in the region. This concern reflects the broader geopolitical tensions affecting the region.
Continued Diplomatic Engagement
This meeting marked the second time Wang and Cho have met since Cho took office earlier this year. Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through continued diplomatic engagement.
