Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman is set to visit China from May 5 to 7 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, according to an announcement by China’s Foreign Ministry.
The visit reflects the long-standing friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, which have seen steady growth for more than five decades under the framework of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.
Focus on Expanding Cooperation
Responding to questions on bilateral ties, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said relations between China and Bangladesh have consistently delivered tangible benefits to both peoples and are grounded in mutual respect and equality.
Beijing views the upcoming visit as an opportunity to further strengthen political trust, expand cooperation across multiple sectors, and advance high-quality projects under the Belt and Road Initiative.
China Signals Long-Term Commitment
The ministry emphasised that China attaches great importance to its partnership with Bangladesh and intends to use the visit to deepen exchanges, enhance collaboration, and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative relationship.
It also noted that engagement with Bangladesh’s new government reflects China’s broader commitment to fostering stable and long-term ties with its neighbours.
