‘Strategic Convergence, India-U.S. Ties Have Come Of Age’

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent state visit to the United States qualifies in every substantive measure to be called a landmark visit, says PS Raghavan, Chairman, National Security Advisory Board (NSAB). The bilateral relationship has come of age and there is strategic convergence now, given the Ukraine war, the state of U.S.-China relations and India’s deteriorating ties with China, he told StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale on ‘The Gist’. Asked how Russia would see India and the U.S. get closer, Raghavan, a former Ambassador to Russia, said though Russia won’t be too happy, it probably understands that the binaries of the Cold War era no more exist and in today’s world bilateral relationships should be looked at as joint ventures. Tune in for more.
