Iran has unveiled an indigenously built long range combat drone, calling it ‘Gaza’ to honour Palestinians’ struggle against Israel, according to state media. The drone has a range of 2000 kilometres, can fly for 35 hours and carry 13 bombs and 500 kg of electronic equipment, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said.
At a ceremony attended by IRGC’s Commander-in-Chief Major General Hossein Salami, two other pieces of defence hardware made in Iran were also displayed: a surface-to-air missile system called ‘9-Day’ and a ‘Quds’ radar system.
