India Has Noted China’s ‘Illegal’ Border Activities, Says MEA

India sharply reacted to reports that China was continuing construction activities along the border with Arunachal Pradesh. A US Pentagon report released recently had stated that Beijing had built a village in a sector in Arunachal Pradesh.

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi stated that India had taken note of the Pentagon report and added that this was not a new tactic by Beijing. “China has undertaken construction activities in the past several years along the border areas including in the areas that it has illegally occupied over the decades. India has neither accepted such illegal occupation of our territory nor has it accepted the unjustified Chinese claims. He added “Government keeps a constant watch on all developments having a bearing on India’s security and will take all the necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
