Businesses should exert whatever leverage they have on the military to get it to halt widespread human rights abuses. The UN agency warned that such abuses may amount to crimes against humanity.
The army crackdown on peaceful protests demanding democracy and return to rule of law has resulted in 782 deaths so far. At least 3,700 people are in detention and arrest warrants are out for another 1500 people.
