A senior member of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ruling Tehreek-e-Insaaf party has formed a “breakaway group” within the party along with 40 other MPs and state assembly members. Jahangir Tahreen, who appears to have fallen out with the PM, said such groups exist in all parties and his group will “raise its voice in the assembly”.
Tareen is currently under investigation in a corruption case, which is speculated as the reason for his forming the group. In the past he has wooed many senior politicians to join Imran Khan and is reported to have played a key role in his election as PM.
