Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan.

Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov announced that Putin will also hold a press conference after the summit formally ends on Thursday.

The summit, running from 22 to 24 October, includes delegations from 36 countries, with 22 represented by heads of state. Six international organisations are also attending

Meetings With Key Global Leaders

On Wednesday, Putin will hold talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan. These meetings highlight Russia’s diplomatic engagement amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Russia’s Diplomatic Focus

Russia is hosting the BRICS summit as evidence of its continued global standing, despite Western efforts to isolate the country over its actions in Ukraine. Moscow views the summit as a significant platform for strengthening its relationships with key nations and countering sanctions and international pressure.
