NEW DELHI: The latest round of disengagement at PP-15 in the Gogra-Hot Springs area along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh has triggered differing opinions among analysts and in the social media. While some back the move, calling it pragmatic, there are others who are critical of the government, claiming that the buffer zones created as a result of negotiations between Indian and Chinese military commanders have forced India to lose territory. The government is yet to clarify the details of the disengagement though. In this episode of ‘Ask Nitin’, StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale gives the overall context of the issue and the options India has going forward.
