‘India’s Statement On Taiwan Post Pelosi Visit Sensible, Not Bold’

NEW DELHI: India’s reaction to recent developments over Taiwan after U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit—urging restraint, avoidance of unilateral actions to change status quo and de-escalation of tensions—may not be bold but is sensible, says Dr Rup Narayan Das, a China scholar based in Taichung in central Taiwan. Speaking to StratNews Global Editor Surya Gangadharan on ‘The Gist’, he also said economic engagement between India and Taiwan is slow and needs to pick up.
