China Cracks Down On Hong Kong Press Freedom

NEW DELHI: Hong Kong businessman Jimmy Lai, other pro-democracy figures and journalists have been arrested in a broad crackdown by China. Over 200 police personnel raided the ‘Apple Daily’ newspaper offices were raided over what authorities allege are charges of collusion with foreign forces. Jimmy Lai’s case is the most high-profile arrest so far under a controversial security law imposed by China in June.
