Last week India hosted the first ever business summit of the BIMSTEC or Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation. The B2B meeting took place just weeks ahead of the BIMSTEC leadership meeting in Bangkok.
Was this a coincidence? Or is it part of a larger plan to revive a regional grouping conceived in 1997 yet largely neglected?
