A passenger train carrying 800 people collided with a Kamaz truck on Monday, resulting in the deaths of at least two individuals and injuring up to 100 others. The collision caused eight carriages to derail in the southern Volgograd region near the Kotelnikovo station, about 1,200 km (750 miles) south of Moscow, according to Russian media outlets.

The train was en route from Kazan in Tatarstan to Adler on the Black Sea when it derailed. The crash left some carriages twisted and battered beside the railway track. The Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that 324 emergency workers and paramedics were on the scene, and emergency helicopters had been deployed to assist with the operation.
