More families are fleeing from Dei Al-Balah in the central Gaza strip. This comes in after Israel has ordered new evacuation orders on Sunday. It said that forces intend to act against Hamas and other militants operating in the area.
Recently, Israel has ordered most evacuations across Gaza. These are the latest ones since the war in Gaza began 10-month-ago. Several Palestinians, UN officials and activists have called for an outcry over the absence of safe areas.
Israeli evacuations have displaced 2,50,000 people so far, as per the Deir Al-Balah municipality.
Israeli military strikes killed at least seven Palestinians on Monday, medics said. Two were killed in Deir Al-Balah, where around a million people were sheltering. Two were also killed at a school in the Al-Nuseirat camp and three in the southern city of Rafah, near the border with Egypt.
The new orders have forced many families and patients to leave the Al-Aqsa Hospital. The hospital is the main medical facility in Deir Al-Balah. It is where hundreds of residents and displaced people had taken shelter, for fear of bombardments.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said in a statement on Sunday that an explosion approximately 250m away from the Al-Aqsa Hospital triggered panic.
“As a result, MSF is considering whether to suspend wound care for the time being, while trying to maintain life-saving treatment.”
DIPLOMATIC IMPASSE
Sawasn Abu Afesh said she and her children had now been displaced 11 times.
“I left half of my children behind me near my furniture and I am now with my little ones and my daughter. Only God can help us. I have no money for transportation. I took my kids and three are left behind. No idea where,” the woman said.
There is little to no hope of an end to the war in sight. Mediators, Qatar, Egypt and the United States, have failed to draw a ceasefire.
Hamas and Israel did not agree to several compromises presented by mediators in Cairo on Sunday, Egyptian security sources said.
A US official however, said the talks were “constructive”.
Hamas official Osama Hamdan said the group rejected new conditions made by Israel during the talks. He added that U.S. comments over an imminent ceasefire deal were false and aimed to serve election purposes.
