The FBI director made some new revelations in the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.
He said the shooter did an online search related to President John F Kennedy’s assasination. Christopher Wray told the House Judiciary Committee, “On July 6th, he (shooter suspect) did a Google search for, ‘How far away was Oswald from Kennedy?”
Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President John F Kennedy on 22 November 1963 at Dallas, Texas. “And so that’s a search that obviously is significant in terms of his state of mind. That is the same day that it appears that he registered for the Butler rally.”
Donald Trump had a narrow escape at the Butler rally in Pennsylvania when the 20 year old shooter Thomas Crooks climbed onto a roof within 140 metres from where Trump was speaking. The FBI director says it is yet to be confirmed if a bullet hit Trump’s ear or shrapnel. Trump’s right ear was grazed. One rally attendee was killed, two others injured. A Secret Service sniper took out the shooter. The FBI Director also said that the shooter fired at least eight bullets since eight cartridges were recovered on the roof. On the question of whether the shooter had any accomplices, Wray said, “So far. Underline, so far, we have not found any evidence of any accomplices or co-conspirators, foreign or domestic.”
But the FBI director said the investigations revealed that Crooks flew a drone at the rally venue hours before it was due to start. “We have been able to reverse engineer the flight path of the drone from the day of the rally. And that’s how we know that for about 11 minutes from I think it’s around 3:50 p.m. to 4 p.m. somewhere in that range, he was flying the drone and we have the flight path. It’s about 200 yards away from where former President Trump would ultimately be speaking.”
So far in the investigation, the FBI has found the suspected shooter to be a loner with few contacts on his phone.
