U.S.-UK-Australia Nuclear Powered Submarine Deal; After India, The Second IOR Navy To Have SSNs

Ahead of the ‘Quad’ in-person Summit and bilaterals between the American, Indian, Australian and Japanese Heads of Government on September 23-24, the U.S., Britain and Australia have announced AUKUS, a security partnership for the Indo-Pacific. Among other strategic cooperation, it will involve Canberra getting nuclear-powered submarines, in the face of the CCP’s aggressive behaviour and growing influence over the region. The Gist discusses the ramifications and implications.
