NEW DELHI: The recent one-on-one meeting between National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow may have come as a surprise to many but it only reinforces the confidence the Indian political leadership at the highest level has in him, and an endorsement of sorts from world leaders. One of the reasons could be the expanded roles that the NSA and the organisation he heads—the National Security Council Secretariat—have performed ever since the government tweaked the contours of national security architecture.
