NEW DELHI: The Indo-Pacific (which has forged new geopolitical alignments mainly due to Chinese aggression and muscle-flexing) will remain an area of future contestation, says Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan. In his first media interview after taking over the top job a year ago, Gen. Chauhan said “due to compulsions of geography, our northern neighbour (China) will have to run its writ on two oceans if it wants to become a superpower; Indian Ocean is one of the oceans, the Pacific is another”. Gen. Chauhan was in conversation with Nitin A. Gokhale, Editor-in-Chief of StratNews Global, Bharat Shakti and Interstellar at the India Defence Conclave 2023, an annual event organised by Bharat Shakti. Tune in for more.
