China’s Long March rocket carrying the Tianhe core module for its space station, is tumbling back to Earth. China’s media has maintained silence on the issue but the online Space News said that “it is not under control.”
Although the Tianhe core module had separated from the launcher and entered its orbit, Space News said the core stage is “likely to make an uncontrolled re-entry over the next days or week as growing interaction with the atmosphere drags it to Earth. If so, it will be one of the largest instances of uncontrolled re-entry of a spacecraft and could potentially land on an inhabited area.”
