India has offered Vietnam the use of its shipyards for building and maintaining its warships. The offer, which flowed from an earlier assurance of help in modernising Vietnam’s armed forces, was made during a webinar between the defence ministries of the two countries.
India’s ambassador Pranay Verma, who was present during the webinar, said Indian shipyards had come of age and were willing to work with Vietnamese yards for the construction, repair and maintenance of platforms.
