Doctor Who Treated Navalny Missing

The former chief of a hospital in Siberia that treated Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny last year has gone missing, the interior ministry’s regional office in Omsk said.

Alexander Murakhovsky, who is now the health minister of Omsk region, left a hunting base in a forest on an all-terrain vehicle on Friday and has not been seen since.

A search operation is underway, involving police officers, national guard forces, hunting inspectors, local residents and emergency services. They are assisted by a helicopter and drones.

The search party has managed to locate Murakhovsky’s vehicle, parked about 6.5 kilometres from the hunting base. The swampy terrain is impeding search and rescue efforts, the ministry said.
