INS Tabar Takes Part In Russian Navy Day Parade As Putin Warns The U.S. With Cold War-style Missile Crisis

The annual Navy Day parade wasn’t just restricted to St Petersburg but included the participation of Russian fleets from multiple locations. Naval parades were held in the waters off the bases of the Northern, Baltic, Pacific fleets, Caspian flotilla, as well as in the Syrian port of Tartus, a Russian navy base in the Mediterranean Sea. State TV broadcast the visuals from different locations as Russia put its might on display at the 238th Navy Day parade. India’s Russia-made Talwar class stealth frigate INS Tabar also took part in the parade. There was also the Chinese Navy’s destroyer ‘Jiaozuo’ and replenishment ship ‘Honghu’, the Algerian Navy training ship ‘La Soummam’. The parade also included the Black Sea fleet. 200 ships were on display which included small missile and anti-submarine vessels.

As Putin raised a toast to foreign crews that took part in Russia’s navy day. ” I congratulate Russian naval servicemen and I want to express my gratitude to our foreign friends for being here today, with us,” said President Vladimir Putin. “Once again, I want to assure you that we, from our side, also have warm feelings for you, the leadership of your countries, and the people of your nations.We consider you as ambassadors, envoys of your peoples.”

In his speech at St Petersburg, he warned the United States that if Washington deployed long-range missiles in Germany, Russia would station similar missiles within striking distance of the West. The move, Putin has warned, will risk triggering a Cold War-style missile crisis.

The U.S. has said it would start deploying long range missiles in Germany from 2026 in preparation for a longer-term deployment that will include SM-6, Tomahawk cruise missiles, and developmental hypersonic weapons.
