NEW DELHI: Three years ago, on August 5th, 2019, the Modi government made a dramatic announcement of the removal of Article 370 which gave the state of Jammu and Kashmir a special status. The move not only stripped away the special status of the erstwhile state, but the Central Government also split the state into two Union Territories – calling them Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. So how is the decision on #article370 reshaping the region? Our team at #StratNewsGlobal thought it was time to reflect on these 36 months and conducted an on-ground audit of the impact of New Delhi’s most consequential policy initiative on the region.

A very insightful documentary, that must be seen by not only by every administrative functionary at the Union government level but also – perhaps even more urgently – by school and college students across India.
At its core, this documentary underlines the simple stark truth of the old maxim: “The road to hell is paved with good resolutions!” The abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 heralded a new era of hope and promises; but three years down the line, these promises and hopes remain unfulfilled if not altogether invisible…a harsh reality that has been expressed by the common people in all the three regions of Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu.
Rule by distant, ill-informed bureaucracies has brought utter disaster to many erstwhile Union Territories in the Northeast of India – this must not be allowed to happen in Ladakh. Tourism promises plenty to all three regions – but unregulated tourism can also bring utter ruin, especially in these sparsely populated, ecologically and sociologically sensitive regions.
There is so much to be done, so much that CAN be done. The first and most vital step is awareness of ground realities…and this film is a major step in that direction. Bravo. Jai Hind.
