‘Connectivity To Central Asia An Issue, Need To Develop Infra Around Chabahar’

SAMARKAND: India gives primacy to the interests of Central Asia and to ties with the region but connectivity is a major issue, says Manish Prabhat, India’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan. Speaking to StratNews Global Editor Surya Gangadharan ahead of the SCO heads of state meeting in Samarkand, Prabhat said Chabahar port in Iran has the potential to become the hub of connectivity between India and Central Asia. And India has been able to deliver humanitarian aid to landlocked Afghanistan via Chabahar. He was of the opinion that infrastructure around Chabahar needs to be developed and India is taking an initiative there.
