BENGALURU: India and Iran have always been good friends but there is greater potential now to expand upon our ties, said Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami. In an exclusive interview with StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief Nitin Gokhale the minister emphasized that post the lifting of the UN arms embargo Iran and India were in a better place to expand co-operation in defence logistics and air and naval defence in particular. Stressing his appreciation of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Iran where India had invited Iran to take part in the Indian Ocean Region Defence Ministers Conclave the minister stated India and Iran shared common views on a number of regional and international issues which given the fact they were both stable and important countries in their respective regions would deepen co-operation between the nations.
