Security agencies have advised the Election Commission of Pakistan not to conduct elections in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa at the moment, saying that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is active in the province and poses a grave security threat. During a meeting with the poll panel, officials from ISI, Intelligence Bureau, and counter-terrorism department also said there were threats in many districts of Punjab as well, reports The Express Tribune. The election commission has announced April 30 as the polling date for Punjab. Meanwhile, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali has said he would hold talks with the chief election commissioner next week. The problem of law and order, especially the new wave of terrorism in K-P, is worrying,” he said.
