DHAKA: Later this week, PM Modi is scheduled to embark on a two-day visit to Bangladesh, his first trip abroad after the pandemic struck. Ties between the two countries are unique and this year is very special for the bilateral relationship and for Bangladesh, says Vikram Doraiswami, India’s High Commissioner in Dhaka. This is the birth centenary year of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and also the 50th year of the liberation of Bangladesh. “The PM’s visit is very much focused on putting the relationship clearly front and centre of the position from where it started,” High Commissioner Doraiswami told StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale in Dhaka. He also spoke about how both countries can collaborate going forward.
