NEW DELHI: A year after the Galwan clash, the standoff between India and China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh continues despite a partial disengagement. India has hit back by banning hundreds of Chinese-made apps, including Tiktok, and barring Chinese tech major Huawei from 5G field trials. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has repeatedly said that the border issue cannot be delinked from the overall relationship, much to China’s discomfort. “India has shown some resolute measures. When you have invader troops on your soil, you can’t have good relations,” says noted China watcher Gordon G. Chang. China is an enemy, it wants to break apart India, he told StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale. “You can’t have good relations with those who are trying to take your territory.”
