Baloch Insurgents Launch Multiple Attacks On Pak Forces

Baloch pro-independence groups targeted Pakistani law enforcement agencies in multiple attacks on August 11, the day Baloch nationalists celebrate as the independence day of Balochistan. Armed groups attacked Pakistan army check-posts, a police station and targeted police officials in several areas, The Balochistan Post reported. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed three attacks in Kalat, Machh and Balgatar, killing at least one officer and injuring four others. BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said fighters fired rockets and other heavy weapons at a Pakistani Army post in Machh. “An enemy personnel was killed on the spot while the occupying forces also suffered more losses,” a statement from the group said. It claimed responsibility for another attack on an outpost in Balgatar. “Several grenades landed inside the outpost, injuring at least two enemy personnel and inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.” A police station in Kalat was targeted and the policemen warned to “stop their anti-Baloch policies”. Meanwhile, another Baloch “pro-independence” group, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), claimed responsibility for attacking an army post in Awaran. “In this attack, one enemy soldier was killed on the spot, while they also received more casualties and loss,” a BLF spokesperson claimed.
