NEW DELHI: India and Afghanistan have signed a nearly $ 300 million agreement to build the Shahtoot Dam to provide drinking water to about 2 million residents of Kabul and irrigate 4,000 hectares of land. In a virtual summit, external affairs minister Dr S. Jaishankar and his Afghan counterpart Mohammed Haneef Atmar signed the MoU in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani.
