Syria Close To Arab League Re-Entry

NEW DELHI: Syria was suspended from the 22-member Arab League in 2011 after President Bashar al-Assad regime’s bloody crackdown on protesters. last month, news agency Reuters reported that the two countries were preparing to reopen embassies after Eid ul-Fitr. This comes after Saudi Arabia and Iran, which is a close ally of the Assad regime, agreed to reestablish ties in a deal brokered by China last month.
