NEW DELHI: While talking about the India-Sri Lanka land bridge, the Ram Setu or Adam’s Bridge comes to mind. However, in modern times India and Sri Lanka have agreed to construct a land bridge.
In 2002, a proposal was floated for a bridge and tunnel across the Palk Strait to connect Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu with Talaimannar in Sri Lanka.
Although, it remains to be seen if the feasibility study already undertaken is sufficient or if there is a need for a fresh study.
