If Israel is forced to stand alone, Israel will stand alone, says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But we know we are not alone because countless decent people around the world support our just cause. We will defeat our genocidal enemies; never again is now, he said in a video broadcast put up on X.
These remarks come against the backdrop of US President Joe Biden saying some shipments to Israel was held back as part of a warning to the Israelis not to “go into Rafah”.
“Hamas indulges in a double war crime. They target our civilians and hide behind theirs. That makes Israel’s task much more difficult,” Netanyahu said on the “Dr. Phil Primetime” show.
Netanyahu said in the interview that he hopes he and Biden can overcome their disagreements over the Gaza war. “We often had our agreements but we’ve had our disagreements. We’ve been able to overcome them. I hope we can overcome them now, but we will do what we have to do to protect our country.”
The sentiments were echoed by Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant “I turn to Israel’s enemies as well as to our best of friends and say – the State of Israel cannot be subdued,” Gallant said in a speech. “We will stand strong, we will achieve our goals – we will hit Hamas, we will hit (Lebanon’s) Hezbollah, and we will achieve security.”
Meanwhile, chief Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said at a briefing that the armed forces had sufficient munitions for Rafah “and other operations that are planned”.
