Stepping Up Surveillance, Infrastructure Key Focus Areas: Lt Gen Manoj Pande
NEW DELHI: Over 1300 kilometres of the India-China boundary lies under the jurisdiction of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command and given the Chinese misadventure in Eastern Ladakh, the Army is taking no chances in the eastern sector. We are keeping a close watch on the movement of forces on the other side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC), says Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen Manoj Pande, who has been named as the next Army Chief. In this exclusive interview recorded in September, 2021 with StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief at a forward location in Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Gen Pande also spoke about how the focus has been on plugging surveillance gaps and ramping up infrastructure. Lt Gen Pande is currently serving as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff.
