Even as Japan eyes the contenders to replace Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, the White House has announced U.S. President Joe Biden will host the first-ever in-person Quad summit on September 24. It will be attended by Prime Minister Suga and his Indian and Australian counterparts Narendra Modi and Scott Morrison.
