An Israeli television producer involved in the acclaimed spy drama Tehran has been found dead in a hotel room in the Greek capital, authorities said, with police treating the case as a suspected suicide.
The body of 52-year-old Dana Eden was discovered on Sunday after relatives reported being unable to contact her.
Investigation Points to Suicide
Greek police officials said evidence and witness testimonies indicate suicide. Investigators recovered pills at the scene, while a coroner also noted bruising on the woman’s neck.
Authorities said a formal inquiry remains ongoing.
Production Company Urges Caution
International production company Donna and Shula Productions expressed grief over the death and appealed against speculation.
“This is a moment of great sorrow for the family, friends and colleagues,” the company said in a statement.
It added that rumours suggesting a criminal or nationalist motive were unfounded and urged media outlets and the public not to circulate unverified claims.
Filming Work Underway in Greece
Israeli media reported Eden had been in Greece working on the fourth season of the espionage drama series Tehran, a globally recognised political thriller centred on Middle Eastern intelligence operations.
Police have not announced a timeline for completing the investigation.
